Cascara, or coffee cherry tea, which is rarely produced for export, is becoming very popular. This Cascara has notes of dried apricot, nectarine & chamomile. It comes from the DR of Congo. At the mill producers process only organic washed, natural, and honey processed coffees. After the natural coffee is completely dry the cherry skin is removed from the bean and set aside to dry. This becomes the sweet cup of coffee cherry tea known as Cascara. Brew hot Cascara tea using about 15 grams (2 to 3 tbsn.) to 10 oz. of water and steeping for 4 to 5 minutes. If you like your tea stronger we recommend steeping for up to 12 minutes. Or cold brew using about 40 grams (about 6 tbsn.) and 16 oz. of water and brewing for 16 to 18 hours ... strain and enjoy!
